Myah Sky, real name Michelle Nunn, is a bi-product of inner-city adventure coupled with the heartache of young women who wear their hearts on their sleeves. Michelle was born an only child to Italian parents. Coming from a musical background, pursuing a career in the rollercoaster world of music was something Myah’s young heart had always desired. Her primary inspiration was her father, who also shared a great passion for music. Supported by her parents, at the tender age of 12, Myah won a scholarship to attend the Italia Conti Academy of Performing Arts where she studied musical theatre and all aspects of dance.
Outside of school, Myah studied both jazz and classical grades in the piano, which developed into composing her own songs. She was a member of street dancing team Goodmans (run by Len Goodman), who came third in the Street Dancing Championships in Germany. At the age of 14, Myah won the London regional under 17’s Live and Unsigned competition and came runner-up in the grand finale which was held in Portsmouth. The young singer has also had the priceless experience of performing in some of London’s most prestige and renowned venues, including The Royal Albert Hall, Wimbledon Theatre & the Hippodrome Theatre.
Myah left college as the proud owner of a dance diploma and from this point had spent the majority of her leisurely hours in the studio - composing and song-writing for both herself and other artists. She had become the go-to vocalist for many of London’s Grime artists, including the likes of Ghetts & Dot Rotten (Universal Records), plus many more. Myah struck up a great working relationship with producer Delerious who was responsible for big street records from the likes of Chipmunk, Lady Leshurr & Stylo G. Myah then went on to tour the UK with Dot Rotten, performing backing vocals for his single ‘Karmageddon’ (Released via Universal Records). This resulted in her then being invited to perform at Spotlight, an event put on by presenter A Squeezy and hosted by Remel London of BBC radio 1Xtra and Link-UP TV.
After appointing new management, Myah took a break from recording to reconfigure her plan. During this time, she joined the burgeoning roster at The Portfolio Music as a recording artist. Following Myah’s addition to the label, her explosive working relationship with producer Mars Moniz was reignited, who was already a staple member of the roster The Pair went on to formulate some of the strongest music Myah has ever created and has since, began to court plenty of industry attention. With an all-new image and sound, Myah is quickly gaining pace in a very open lane in the UK Music Industry! Her new release ‘Attention’ which is a cover of Charlie Puth’s hit, is scheduled for a Jan 19 release.
